Dear all,

My dev team started working on an integration which is based on a JSON custom service for D365FO. But this is besides the point. Before we start the development we would like to see if we can authenticate the external system on Azure AD. We registered the app and now posses the client ID, the client secret, the tenant ID. We are not sure about the scope should it be the environment URL only?

Also can you share an example json request for an API token from Azure AD. Something that is already known to be working.

    Hi Simeon, 

    Just a quick question - is your communication with the service 2 way I mean do you send data to the service and receive data from it?

    And answer  to your question- You have to register your application Client ID in Azure active directory applications in F&O so you can access it from there. One AAD application is sufficient for all environments. 

    You can use C# coding to create JSON token request and call C# code from X++.

    Put authentication details to ClientConfiguration class and then run JsonConsoleApplication.
