Hi all,

I'm using D 365 instance with all items WMS enabled and able to use the WMS app for the Inbound process.

Batch number is auto-created but the requirement here is that I want automatic license plate generation at Report As Finished of a Production order as shown in the above image.

Note: A target license plate can be generated automatically when I use the WMS app, but I need the LP just after the RAF.

Please revert .

Not supported out of the box. The LP will also be auto-generated (if configured) when using the mobile app for reporting as finished.

Hi,

As far as I know, in standard, it is not possible to automatically create an LP Id when you do the RAF via that screen. Only the WMS app can auto-create the LP Id.

I really appreciate your quick response.

But, is there any other workaround to get the license plate automatically before RAF, really stuck with this client requirement.

I think this is doable through extension, but up to you to figure out. Not through configuration, as I said above.

You are also welcome to create a new idea on the ideas portal (or upvote an existing one, but I don't believe I've seen that one)

Clear answer: you can't. There are 2 well-known alternatives:

1) Use the WHS app.

2) Pre-print the SSCC numbers and let the workers tear off the next label, scan the number from it in the RAF form, and apply the label to the product immediately.

Hi Shahid,

as work around you might use following:

1. Create Work policy for the selected Non-LP controlled location:
i) Work order type: Finished goods put-away/ Work creation method: Never
ii) Inventory location: Non-LP controlled location
iii) Work order type: Co-product and by-product PA/ Work creation method: Never (assumption there is no such process)
Note: This record is added automatically by the system when Inventory location setup is saved.

iv) Update Work creation method for Finished goods put-away work order type, from "Never" to "Cross-docking"

This will let you RAF products without LP.

2. Set up Default production finished goods location on warehouse to be non- LP tracked.
This will let you RAF products without LP.

3. Create Finished goods put-away Work template, which is set for "Automatically process"

4. Create Finished goods put-away Location directive, which is pointing to a Production location (or PA location) which is LP tracked.

This will let you get automatically generated LP on wished Location upon RAF-ing production order from the client.

@Vladimir Aleksandrovich I just tried your suggestion but not able to proceed as system does not allow me to setup a non-LP location as the production output location. Also, I am not allowed to setup work policy for this non-LP location with work creation method "Cross docking". Only an LP location is allowed to be setup with "Cross docking".

@Vladimir Aleksandrovich Tried the steps mentioned but system does not allow me to update the work creation method from "Never" to "Cross docking". I get the following error: "The location FG-STANCH in warehouse 10 does not support the creation method Cross docking." Looks like Cross docking is allowed to be setup only for LP enabled locations.

Hi Sreehari,

Perhaps there is a restriction in D365.

In R3 (using version 6.3.6000.) it is possible to update the work creation method from Cross docking to Never for non LP location, if you would follow steps described in previous post.
Sharing with you setup related screenshots.
