Hi Friends,

I have 2 workflow which both fire on update of 2 fields and both created my me.

workflow1 - It triggers when field A is changed and then  this workflow captures the name of users who changed this Field A,so i set  "ModifiedBy" to a another field A1.

Workflow2 - It trggers when field B is changed this workflow  also  captures the name of users who changed this Field B so i set  "ModifiedBy" to a another field B1.

But when I go in Audit and see modified by - Here it shows my name.

Another issue - If users change the field A and B together and save in A1 and B1 my name is stored.

Can you guys please help me solve this issue

    Hi,

Its depends on your requirement and  complexity of workflow . Background workflow is always better than real time workflow if you say about performance perspective.

For your scenario I don't think there will be any performance related issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Execute As option is only available if you unselected the Run this workflow in the background (recommended) option when you created the workflow or if you later converted a background workflow to be a real-time workflow.

For real-time workflows you have the Execute As option and you can choose whether the workflow should apply the security context of the owner of the workflow or the user who made changes to the record.

So you should make your workflow as real time and execute as -"The user who made change to the record".

For more details you can check msdn reference -

    Hi,

You can make workflow to run in real time and set it to run in context of user triggering it.

    Please see below screenshot:

Hi, if it's a background workflow, it's running under the workflow owner account, which is probably your account. That's why your name shows up in the modified by.

Try making it a realtime workflow, and make sure it's configured to run under the user who made the change.

Or you can always create a pre-update plugin instead, in which case you don't need to do any extra updates.
