Azure Blob Storage Integration Works in PRODUCTION but Fails in DEVELOPMENT Environment

Hello Community,

I am facing an issue with Azure Blob Storage integration in Business Central.

  • In PRODUCTION, the connection and operations (upload/view blobs) work perfectly.

  • In the DEVELOPMENT environment, the same code was working until a few days ago, but now it fails.

  • Currently, I cannot upload or view any blob-related activities in the DEV environment, and I get an error (unfortunately, no changes were made to the code

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Could it be related to:

  • Azure Storage Account permissions/keys?

  • Environment-specific setup differences?

  • A recent update in Business Central or Azure affecting DEV only

  •

Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

    Namaste Nimsara ,

Check the below things due to which it might not work.

    1) Azure Account - Firewall Settings , is it blocking external sources
2)Test in Azure Explorer if it fails then there is some issue in Azure Side
    3) Check you valid permission in Entra Application side if you are using Azure Function
    4) Check spelling of container name
    5) Check any permissions have changed in BCE side .
    6) Restart the environment from admin center and see

    Hi,

Check these in your DEV environment, since PROD works:
    > Storage Account Keys / SAS Token – ensure they haven’t expired or changed.
    > Connection String / Endpoint – verify it points to the correct DEV storage account.
    > Permissions – confirm the DEV identity (service principal or user) has proper Blob Contributor / Reader roles.
    > BC Environment Settings – check Azure AD App registration or BC Web Service Access Key if used.
    > Version/Updates – compare BC and AL versions between DEV and PROD; updates can affect TLS or authentication.

    Troubleshooting steps:
    > Test access outside BC (e.g., Azure Storage Explorer) using the DEV credentials.
    > Check AL error logs for details.
    > Refresh secrets or tokens if using OAuth.

    Thanks
    Rishabh
