    Hello,

I would highly recommend you look at ForNAV.

    https://www.fornav.com/

They have a way to convert NAV AL to Business Central.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Tanya,

    Thanks for your reply!

But if I need to upgrade some customized reports in NAV 2016 to Business Central, do I need to upgrade the entire database?

As far I remember , The "exporttonewsyntax" parameter only works for 2018 and above.

You can technically upgrade the 2016 DB to 2018(v11) DB and then use this command.

    Hi Giambattista!

As per your suggestion I changed the command as below

    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90\RoleTailored Client

    finsql.exe Command=ExportToNewSyntax, File="F:\NAV Projects\Extensions\CAL\export.txt", Database="NAV2016CU66", ServerName=.\SQLEXPRESS, Filter=Type=report;ID=50078

It didn't throw me an error in cmd and ran smoothly. But in my destination folder no file got exported.

And when I checked the naverrorlog.txt for error logs it mentioned [29885216] The "exporttonewsyntax" command is not valid.

you don't have to use 180 to export the report. I believe you need to use 90.

    Hi Giambattista,

I was trying out the steps for the reort migration.

But in my Business central installation there is no finsql.exe file in the path:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central\180\RoleTailored Client

So for the command the command

    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central\180\RoleTailored Client

    finsql.exe Command=ExportToNewSyntax, File="F:\NAV Projects\Extensions\CAL\export.txt", Database="NAV2016CU66", ServerName=.\SQLEXPRESS, Filter=Type=report;ID=50078

I get the error finsql.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I am not sure if my Business Central installation has an issue or what becasue the instance runs perfectly.

Can you please suggest on the issue...
