Does anyone know if it is possible (through custom JS or otherwise) to implement validationmessagefor on entity form fields? Ideally I'd like to be able to choose between displaying error messages in the validation summary, or next to a field (using something like validationmessagefor).

    Hi Michael, You can use form notification OOB functionality for your requirement.

    Hi Michael,

    You could use Javascript or Business Rules to display a custom error message in dynamics CRM.

    In the case of Javascript, use the function below.

    Xrm.Page.getControl("fieldName").setNotification("ErrorMessage"); // This creates an error message near the field

    In the case of business rules, it is as shown below.

    Sorry I should clarify - I am asking the question in the context of an MS CRM Portal Entity Form - not a Dynamics form.
