Typical processing time "Calculate Plan"

Hi,

guess question
What are typical processing times for report 99001017 "Calculate Plan - Plan. Wksh."?

It is of course clear to me that I cannot expect a clear answer to my question and that the processing times for this report depend on many different factors! But I would still like to be able to assess whether our processing time is within normal limits.

Based on your own experience, can you estimate how long the run through is likely to take for the following key data?
> Solution: OnPrem
> approx. 50,000 items in total
> approx. 3.000 active items with movements
> "Reordering Policy" = Only "Lot-for-Lot"
> up to 6 BOM levels (only 1 Routing Line per Item)
> approx. 800 positions in the "Planning Worksheet" after a complete run.

I would be really grateful for some experiences!

Kind regards
Ralf Müller

Hi, I think it still depends on the amount of data, and whether it is Sandbox or Production.

It is recommended that you use the In-client performance profiler to check the specific running time.

    Hope this helps.

Our report takes over 2 hours and I think that's a lot. Hence my question about the runtime for others.

Thank you very much for your assessment, which at least makes me think about it.

With that run time i would have a look at how your servers are performing when you run the reports.

It can be a simple teak that will improve this processing.

You should also check how your sql database is being maintained when it comes to indexes and statistics.

    Hi Daniele,

when asking for general information, it may sometimes be very helpful if a link is referred to, which you do primarily with all contributions.

But what should the link tell me in this case? There is no talk here of empirical values or times - which I asked about.

Of course I know the link.

That is a big question you have there where a lot of factors comes into play.

Anything from your local infrastructure to how you maintain your SQL server.

I would say that up to 15 minutes would be with in a normal expectation for this.

But i have also seem those kind of calculations run for almost an hour.
