One or more folders in your mailbox is named incorrectly

Hello everyone

I am having trouble with an user account that we setup.

On their computer we have installed office 2013 and also CRM Client 2013

He is getting the following error message appearing in the inbox, any ideas?

One or more folders in your mailbox is named incorrectly.

The name of one or more of your folders includes the character "/" or more than 250 characters. Folders with names that include this character can't be downloaded to your IMAP e-mail program. Please rename these folders:
• CrmOrgMailboxPrefix07/24/2014_11:49:02 (Tasks/CrmOrgMailboxPrefix07/24/2014_11:49:02)

Please let me know if anyone knows how I can stop this from happening.

Thank you very much!

Best,

Tiberius Raducan

    Hello,

Unfortunetly I didn't find a solution for it. I tried deactivating any syncronization between Outlook and CRM Dynamics, but it didn't work.

So, I just created a filter to delete all those emails :).

If anyone else has any ideas on this, please let us know.

    Best,

I encountered this issue as well--and found no specific resolutions to it online--but I just solved the problem for myself and hope this is helpful to everyone else as well . . .

I used the MFCMapi tool to locate the folder with the "incorrect" name--which was the exact same one mentioned in Tiberius' post above.  Here is a link to the article I used for guidance:  http://desigeek.com/blog/amit/2007/01/17/solved-case-of-the-invisible-folder-in-outlook-and-exchange/

I downloaded the tool here:  http://MFCMAPI.codeplex.com

Essentially--use the instructions at the link to login to your outlook server, navigate to the "IPM_SUBTREE" folder under the Root, then open the Tasks folder . . . the folder containing the slashies should be right there. click the folder to rename it, replace the slashies with underscores and hit enter . . . . delete all the error emails in your inbox, then send yourself a test email . . . problem should be solved!
