How to setup SMTP for gmail account at business central with Oauth 2.0

Hello,
I need to setup SMTP at business center which is gmail id.
Also need to use Oauth 2.0.
SMTP as gmail works fine with Basic Authentication by enabling 2 step Authentication and App password at Google. But as Google suggest to use OAuth 2.0 as more Secure Option, need to use Authentication as Oauth.
What all steps are required at Google Console and at Business central ?

Thanks

    Hello,

To use Gmail SMTP with OAuth 2.0 in Business Central, you must first create a Google Cloud project, enable the Gmail API, configure an OAuth consent screen, and generate OAuth credentials (Client ID and Secret) with the correct redirect URI for Business Central.

Then, in Business Central’s SMTP Mail Setup, select OAuth 2.0, enter the Client ID, Secret, authorization and token endpoints, and add the Gmail scope (https://mail.google.com/).

Finally, authorize the connection through the OAuth flow and test sending emails. This approach replaces app passwords with a more secure token-based authentication.

    Hello,

Business Central does not support Gmail OAuth 2.0 for SMTP.
OAuth is only supported for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) mailboxes.
So with Gmail, the only working method is still:

    Enable 2-Step Verification in Google

    Create an App Password

Use SMTP with Basic Authentication in Business Central

Google OAuth cannot be configured because BC cannot connect to Google’s OAuth endpoints.
