Can any one explain what is the purpose Budget Field on fixed asset.
if it is only for notification then why it is blocking on purchase order and Fixed asset G/L from acquisition.
Thanks in Advance
The Budgeted Asset checkbox on the Fixed Asset card in Business Central is used to indicate that the asset is planned or budgeted for future acquisition but has not yet been purchased or capitalized. It is primarily a control feature for capital expenditure planning, allowing users to set up asset details (like depreciation books and locations) in advance. When this checkbox is selected, the system will block any acquisition postings—such as through a Purchase Order, Purchase Invoice, or Fixed Asset G/L Journal—to prevent accidental capitalization of an asset that is not yet approved or acquired. To proceed with acquisition postings, you simply need to uncheck the Budgeted Asset field once the asset is ready to be capitalized.
Hope this answer will help you!
