As of yesterday, we arent able to open advanced settings or make any customization changes in our dev environment without getting an error.

This is happening to all of our admins. Has anyone had this happen before?

Issue: Admins are unable to access Advanced Settings or perform customizations in the Dev environment of Microsoft Dynamics 365. The error message is generic:
“An error has occurred. Try this action again…”
This affects all admins and is consistent across sessions.

    Troubleshooting Steps & Solution:
    1. Clear Browser Cache or Use Incognito Mode
      • Sometimes cached sessions cause loading issues. Test by using incognito/private mode or a different browser.
    2. Check Environment Mode
      • Go to Power Platform Admin Center → Environments → [Your Dev Environment] → ensure the environment is in Active state.
      • If it's in a "Recovering", "Disabled", or "Pending" state, this will block settings access.
    3. Verify Security Role Permissions
      • Even for admins, confirm the users have the System Administrator role in the affected environment.
        • Go to Settings → Security → Users → select the user → check roles.
    4. Check for Recent Solutions or Customizations
      • If a managed or unmanaged solution was recently imported or updated, it may have corrupted settings or removed required components.
      • Check Solutions list for anything updated within the past 24 hours.
    5. Use Direct URL to Bypass Navigation Issues
      • Try accessing advanced settings directly via:
    Bash  CopyEdit
    https://<yourorg>.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx?settingsonly=true
Replace <yourorg> with your environment’s name. This can help bypass UI errors.
    1. Review System Jobs & Errors
      • Go to Advanced Find → System Jobs and filter for failures around the timestamp.
      • See if there are plugins or workflows failing in the background.
    2. Check Service Health (Microsoft 365 Admin Center)

    Next Step:
If none of the above resolve the issue, collect the following and open a ticket with Microsoft Support:
    • Full error details including Timestamp and Service Request Id:
      • Timestamp: 4/25/2025 6:28:19 PM UTC
      • Service Request Id: 1b90c1cc-2b54-43af-8701-ae188487515f
    • Environment URL and name
    • Screenshots or screen recordings of the issue
    • Details of any recent changes (solution imports, user changes, upgrades)

    Hi nvrhughes,

Can you tell us what Dynamics 365 application this question is related to? There are several different solutions in the Dynamics 365 family, like: Sales, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, and Business Central. From which exact page are you trying to open what advanced settings?

Jimmy, I still received the error.

Saif, we checked/tried all of that and still no luck.

We are getting an error with a particular solution that says " Import failed: Requested value 'Customer Care Lead, Customer Experience Specialist' was not found."

Could this cause all of this?
