Tables Being Used In Reports

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

I am currently working on creating reports using Jet. I know how to view the tables where data is stored in by clicking --> help and support --> inspect pages and data --> this displays the page and table that the data I am currently looking at is stored in. Does anyone know of a way that I can look at the table(s) behind a report? I have been searching and cannot find the answer - any/all help is much appreciated.

It’s not 100% effective but you can get a fairly good impression from the report request page. On this one it’s the customer and value entry table. There could be others used but the request page gives you a decent idea:

the full proof method is to download the base app and use via code to review. This video explains how to start this: https://youtu.be/SFBgjkbywBM

Once you have the above then you need to add a vs code extension called AZ AL. That lets you browse all the objects of BC and you can review the source code. That will tell you the full table structure of reports

Might be tricky to work with. In which case you might like to pull the sample Jet reports.

Hi, if you only want to know the First DataItem Table ID, you can use the following method.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.
