Allocated quantities effect on Stock Count variances

In Sales Processing or Inventory Control (Transaction or Transfer) I am able to override a shortage, but if I do a stock count and have allocated quantities the calculated variance quantity is adjusted because the on hand quantity would be less than the allocated quantity or possibly less than zero. Does anyone know of a work around for this - so that I would be able to use stock counts and not have to process my inventory counts as an inventory transaction?

If it is possible in your organization, un-allocate all the items before doing the stock count process.

    Hi Glen,

There is no option but you can manually change the Variance Qty field in the Stock Count Entry.

Exemple, if the item qty is -1 and you enter 2 as Counted Qty. GP will change the Variance Qty to 3. You can manually enter 2 instead of 3.

Exemple, if the item qty is -1 and you click Verified. GP will change the Variance Qty to 1. You can manually enter 0 instead of 1.

GP will not put it back when you click process.
