Product Attribute search not working in POS

Hi, I have configured Product Attributes for Search in D365 FnO and when I try to search of the item in POS, it doesn't provide any search item based on it.

Indicated below are the configuration detail, please let me know if I'm missing anything here:

In Released Products I have set the attribute values for the item

> For the particular attribute search option is enabled for it

> Published channel updates from "Channel Categories and Product Attributes"

> Executed Catalogs, Products and Channel Jobs

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/attribute-attributegroups-lifecycle#attribute-metadata

The doc's link provided above states that we need to use SDK to put products into a Search Index, I guess this is were I'm stuck I believe.

Any input on this would be really helpful, Thanks in Advance!

Hi Ramune , I'm trying to search products based on attributes in POS based on the Doc's link I understand that we would need to use SDK to put products into a Search Index. I'm not sure how to go about from this point appreciate if you could share some input on this.

Hi there, try below - screenshot from our Prod env where we are able to filter products using defined attributes.

Open set default metadata for the organisation node - in our case we have defined it for parent node so that its inherited by all of our channels.

Select the attribute and set "Search" to Yes.

    Publish channel updates.

Once done, you should be able to view attribute name in the filter pane on product search form.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Rahul, Thanks for the response! Product filter based on attribute is working as expected, I don't have any problem with this.

The problem is when I try to search the product based on attribute from POS Search option. In POS Search option when I type in the Attribute Value POS isn't displaying the results even though it is configured and data is synced.

Based on the doc's link I understand that this option was originally intended to improve the search functionality for online storefront and commerce doesn't include online storefront out of the box. Online storefront includes e-Commerce publishing Software Deployment Kit (SDK) and it was recommended that customer could use this SDK to put products into a Search Index of their choice to use this feature/option. I didn't find any technical document on how to go about for adding/modifying this extension any input / suggestion would be really appreciated, Thanks

Just a thought - from the attribute setup form, have you opened the 'Filter settings' for each attribute you want to be searchable and clicked 'Edit' and set the parameters accordingly?

Hi Paul, Thanks for the response! Attribute Filter setting is in place and it is working as expected in POS. The issue that I'm facing is related to Attribute Search, I wanted to use POS Search option to search for the products based on Attribute value. Based on the doc's link I understand that this functionality was intended for Online Storefront and POS doesn't include online storefront out of the box. It was recommended that customer could use the e-Commerce SDK to put products into a search index of their choice to use this feature in POS. I would like to know if anyone has done this before and appreciate if they could share some input on how to go about. Thanks!
