Audit log showing modified by -different user

Hello Experts, 

I have one plugin registered in post update event. I have change the calling user and impersonated  with System Admin user . So now I am facing problem with Audit log where its shows system Admin user name in modified by column.

How to overcome this issue. Could you please guide me.

    Does the ModifiedOnBehalfBy field show any value for the updated record?

    Thanks Radu for your reply. I am getting  null in this field I have check with querying in database.

    Hi Goutam,

     if the plugin has been impersonated to run under System Admin, that's what the audit log should show.. the user who made the update might not even have permissions to do what the plugin is doing, so, technically, it's the System Admin who's making the changes:)

     in the plugin context, there is UserId and InitiatingUserId - I think they will be different in your scenario. So you might add a user lookup to the entity and store UserId in that lookup every time the plugin runs (the record will still be modified by the Sys Admin, but you will likely see original user name in that additional field)
