You cannot create field with same schema name for same entity, but you can create field with same schema name for different entity.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hi Sanu,

For each entity, you can only have one field with each schema name value. This is good as it allows you to use the schema name as a reference to a particular field. If schema names were not unique, this would be much more difficult.

Is there any reason for having multiple fields with same schema names? Can you post your requirement here so that you will get some solution.

This is not possible. It’s like trying to create multiple columns with the same name in a database table. As you know eventually all these fields are going to be columns in a table (entity) in SQL server database.

But what you can do is you can create a different solution with a different publisher with a different prefix. Now you can create fields for the same entity in that new solution with same name. But still this is not the same schema name since prefix is different.

This is not possible; what you are trying to is something similar to creating columns with same name in a database table. Ultimately as you know all these fields are going to be columns in a SQL Server database table (entity table).

What you can do is create a different publisher with a different prefix and a different solution for that publisher. Then in that solution you should be able to create columns with the same name for that entity. But still its not 100% same name as the prefix is different.

No. This is not possible for any system. Field names must be unique.
