Configuration package: Is there a way to reduce the no. of database?

hi Community,

I was trying to upload the configuration package, and come to realize that even though I may have only 200 over lines, Navision will go and update/scan through 50k over database just to upload my 200 over lines.

May I know if there is anyway to reduce this?

Also initially when I started doing update, I don't see 50k+, but it seems to be gradually happening, what is the cause of this?

Thank you.
I have the same question (0)

I believe there is some blank line in your package which is you are importing.

You must click on No. Of database Record lookup and check whether by default some entry is getting created or not.

    Thanks

    Hi PRao,

I have checked that there are no access blanks in my excel. However, it could be that previously excessive blanks have been uploaded, if this is the case how can I remove them from this database?

    Thank you !

That field indicates the number of records currently stored in the system for that table. If you're looking to reduce that number, the only way to do so is by deleting existing records from the system. However, I don’t think that’s what you’re aiming to do.

    Thank you for your reply.

I'm curious how I can delete the records, if you can show me the steps.

From what I can see, every time I add a record to a table, the no. of databases increases something which I don't quite understand,

since the records have been the same fields.

I'm trying to keep the records as low as possible so that the time to validate and apply can be shorter.

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

Hi, This value is not the data you are importing, but the data already in the database. If you want to reduce it, you must clear it from the database.
I'm not sure what table you are importing, you can try the following options in a test company.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi YUN ZHU ,

    Thank you for your advise.

I don't seems to see the column called "Delete Table Records before Processing" in older BC configuration package.

May I ask what if the configuration package has already been applied, then how do we proceed to check and remove any excessive data records from the server?

Will that be a developer's role to do that?

    Thank you !
