I know you can reverse a sales shipment from the function on shipment lines if it's posted directly from Sales Order. Is there any way to reverse a sales shipment posted through Inventory Pick screen? Only way I found is to invoice and then credit
I think your idea about customization works the best for end user. Usually I prefer customization if it makes it easier with the less chance of mistake for the end user.
Technically both methods works but to create a end user friendly process using standard functionality I think creating credit is the way. If you let users delete picks they may end up deleting other entries by mistake. Perhaps customisation can deal with this better.
Hi! You first need to open the list for Posted inventory picks, choose the right pick and delete it with the dustbin in the top. After this move you can reverse the sales shipment and start over.

There is no other way. That is the only method.
Basically if you undo the shipment then you cannot unregister pick. Also, I found out you cannot make shipment again for same pick. We basically invoice then credit.
