Dynamics GP Workflow 2013 R2 - Email Configuration

We are in the process of setting up Dynamics GP 2013 R2 Workflow for purchase order approvals and all appears to be functional except the email configuration setup screen (R2 Setup).  I enter in the email address, Login, and password for the associated account, the application freezes and then eventually comes back after about 2 minutes saying the login failed.

The traditional Workflow Setup screen that includes the checkbox for Enable E-Mail for workflow is fully configured and tests out successfully with sending and testing of the email action.  The secondary email configuration screen that appears new for R2 does not accept the credentials provided.  Is there anything special to the type of email account that needs to be used and entered into those fields.   I assume it is using the mail server that I configured in the initial Workflow configuration screen.

Have you applied the required configuration on the window mentioned below (workflow setup | Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > System > Workflow Setup)

Please refer to the steps provided by AzureCurve and keep us updated in case you still have a problem  MDGP 2013 R2 Feature of the Day: Workflow Email Notifications

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

That window is configured and both test options come out clean.  Sending the email and verifying web service connectivity.  I just can't get the other email configuration to accept settings.  Not sure what the difference is between the two configuration windows.

It seems I have not thoroughly read your thread, now it is clear.

I have a question, what is the secondary e-mail configuration window that you refer to, can you provide its path ?

Click on the admin button in the nav pane. The goto the company section and look for workflow - you will need to expand the tree. I get the message at the message set up window

Did you install Web Services for R2?

Installed R2 and applied Hotfix but still getting the Login Failed message.  Keep in mind this is the secondary Workflow window that requests email address, login and password.  It seem redundant to the first workflow setup screen but continues to fail.

Are you talking about the Exchange prompt window that comes up when you email anything out of GP like reports? If so that is really going to depend on how your Exchange is setup. For example I have to enter the following:

    Email address:   User@domain.com

    Password:    Password

    Login ID:  Ad-domain\user

Again this is because this is how our Exchange is setup.

Which option do you select in WF setup ? "Windows Authentication using Database Engine service credentials" or "Basic Authentication" ?

So it appears the client had setup the account without a mailbox.  Once the mailbox was activated the Workflow screens appeared.

Although we have found another issue around the Workflow email for PO that is sent out.  It includes links to review the PO and Accept or Reject.  The problem we see is that when you click the link to review the PO it requires that the user already be logged into GP to bring it up.  That really defeats the purpose of the email Workflow review if you have to be in GP to review.  We are still researching options around this.
