Actuals in Goals

I created a goal and associated metrics in Dynamics.

Under my target I have an integer of 3.

My challenge is that my actuals under goals are greyed out.  I am unable to update the in progress integer and/or the percentage achieved.

I am at a loss on how to fix this. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Tone

    RE: Actuals in Goals

I found that the Actuals were not updated in my goals because the oppotunities were closed without passing through all the Opportunities stages. So after you close the opportunities by completing all the stages (Qualify->Develop->Propose-> Close), open the goal, go to Goal Criteria and in the Rollup Query - Actual(Money) set a Rollup query. Then click the Recalculate button on top and you should get the Actuals. I created My Rollup query using "Opportunity Sales Process (Opportunity)" and Status equals "Inactive".

    Hope this helps!

    RE: Actuals in Goals

    Hi Tone,

Goal's Actual field is rolling up the Actual based on the query defined in Metric and roll-up query.

Goal Management comprises of four different entities: goal, goal metric, roll-up field, and rollup query.

Please check Metric and Roll up query results for Actual s.

    RE: Actuals in Goals

The actuals section is not intended to be filled out, but is auto-generated based on the data in the system.  This happens daily or on demand if you click on the calculate button in the ribbon.  If your metric is revenue, it automatically sums the total revenue for closed/won opportunities.  The same concept can applied to number of cases.

The data that is used for actuals is defined by the rollup fields in your goal metric and your rollup query.  I believe CRM comes with a revenue metric out-of-the-box that you can use as an example.
