Hello,

Does anybody know of, or currently use, any 3rd part vendors to automate the generation of bank transaction data?  If so, what do you use?  Is it possible to connect GP to an automatic download from the bank without first having to login to the bank to do an export to Excel (or some other file format)?  Thanks!

    In the Electronic Bank Reconciliation Download Maintenance window there is a Communication Link checkbox. Mark the Use Communication Link option and enter the path and the filename of the communications software you’ll use when you download data from your bank. This varies from Bank to Bank and requires no 3rd Party application to implement.

    My understanding is this is only for reconciliation purposes - is that correct?  We need to use the bank feed to actually make transactions for revenue and other things.  Will your suggestion work for that, or would we need something different?  Thanks.

    Indeed - this is the case. You can check with your bank; some banks' have functionality to automatically grab a file from a specified location, but that's the best GP can do out of the box.

    Failing that, Professional Advantage, a longtime GP ISV (3rd Party) has a product called B4B (Banklinks for Business), which can automate this process.
