Updating contact info through the parent account

Is there any way to update the contacts addresses associated with a parent account, when the address of the Account changes? Instead of having to go in and update each contact individually.

Unfortunately, you cannot get to child records with workflow. So besides doing it with code you have to do it manually. The one exception would be you can update the primary contact of the account with workflow, but not the child records.

You can achieve this through creating a workflow for Account entity and trigger it when a Account fields gets changed.

In a work flow condition, you can add a step to update contact and set the properties.

After that, to set the values of address fields in contact form from the Account form : -

Select the contact address field first and then select the dynamic values of the Account Address form

    Thanks,

    You can create work flow.

In which whenever field of Account addresses get changes you can change "Primary Contact's" details.

I find it completely ridiculous that Dynamics has not built this functionality option into their CRM software.  In most cases when a company moves, you will want the addresses on each of the associated Contact records to be updated.  As this is an old posting, by any chance have they updated the software by now??  If so, please let me know how to activate this functionality.

If not, does anyone out there have a workflow they created that works for this, and they would be willing to share?

    Thanks very much

Hey Jerry - I was able to build my workflow through Flows by following your blog post.  Thanks for that.

But it seems like I can only select the entity of "Primary Contact" and not all contacts.  So can I only update the primary contact?
