Is there a way to hide the Global Quick Create button (+)? .I remember unsupported customization used to work in v8.1 but does not seem to be working on v9.1.

Hi,
There is no supported way to hide this button. Unsupported code will break when Microsoft release new updates.
Instead you should remove Entity from App designer OR uncheck quick create on Entity settings to hide Quick create function for specific Entity
This is not a supported customization however if you have to do it. Check below blog where advanced find gets hidden, you can take a similar approach
