Installing 64 Bit Version

At my workplace we use NAV 2013 R2 and I have noticed that all PC's have 32-bit NAV installed but all the PC's are 64-bit, why is that? Is there a way I can install the 64-bit version on the PC's or is that something that the installer does on its own?
