Users are overwriting default view criteria and saving over defualt views

I have an issue I've been unable to troubleshoot. I have 1-2 users who have been accidentally overwriting system views like "Open Opportunities." They are using that as a starting point to create a custom view, but instead of saving as, and creating it, they are simply hitting save, and somehow saving over the system view.

I have pored over the security permissions these users have, and can't find anything about modifying system views, but it's happened about 4 times now. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

    Hi Toni,

You can take a reference from salesperson role and compare the security privileges under the customization tab.

    Hope this helps.

My view matches yours, under saved views the permission is by user.

So that mean user who created the view will be able to edit it. Are they able to edit others view as well?

Yes they are accidentally editing the system views like "Open opportunities" by changing the criteria then saving over the system view.

Ah.. can you remove even the user level write privilege?

As you can see in the screenshot, the 'Save' button appear as disabled. Is that not happening?

Thank you I think this may have solved it! I just lost the ability to use the save button on saved views as well. Hopefully this works companywide! Thank you!
