Upgrade for MS Dynamics POS 2.0

Is there an update or upgrade available for MS Dynamics POS 2.0?  My wife has a shoe store and MS Dynamics POS 2.0 will not support the new credit cards with the chip in them and will not work with Windows 7 or above.  We really don't want to start over with a new system and would rather just update the current system if that is available.

Sorry to say HogFan, but you are waayy overdue for an upgrade. And from someone who was in the Specialty Sporting Goods biz with a big emphasis on Shoes for over 25 years, you actually are in the wrong system for a Shoe store, or any other that has size/color etc. variables of items, since there was no Matrix in POS 2.0.

There is an upgrade path to POS 2009, but that version is discontinued anyway, so another reason I would not advise you to spend the time and money renewing your BREP/BRAP with MS and upgrading and training on the system.

You may want to switch to RMS instead, since the overall look and feel is pretty similar to your POS 2.0 (in fact RMS is more similar to POS 2.0 than POS 2009 is), and it has and excellent Matrix for creating, purchasing, selling, reordering your Shoe and other items with variables.

You would almost certainly make more money by enabling better buying and merchandising decisions, and save money and frustration on time spent over the nest year or two than the switch will cost. It's a pretty simple business calculation, I have a chart we could enter your numbers into and see what pops out.

There was an option to renew and upgrade to RMS if you paid for the full annual plan with MS when you bought your POS 2.0. We could help you check that, since I suppose if you are on here with this question that you are not working with a Microsoft Partner?
