Import drop-down-list entries into Dynamics 365 online

Hey guys,

i am having some trouble with importing data to Dynamics CRM 365 online.

In the contact-form i have a few fields with drop-down-lists.

Some of the drop-down-lists are system-standard (like address1_addresstypecode),

some of the drop-down-lists are customized (like a new salutation field).

The system-standard-drop-downs are importable via an excel-sheet, my new customized ones are sadly not. Did i miss something?

I created/used the new drop-downs like this: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531201.aspx

Just in case, it's relevant: All other customized fields (for example text-fields or whatever) are importable... just the drop-downs are troubeling me.

Greetings,

Florian.

Hi Florian.  You require a data map to map your values to your optionset value during import.  This blog posts indicates the steps required:  tnycrm.blogspot.com.au/.../how-to-create-data-map-using-download.html

    Thanks.

Indeed was a failure in mapping my problem. This mapping-error was caused by the two salutation-fields (the default system-salutation-field and my new one). Both had (of course) different field-names but the same label. The Dynamics 365 import (with the Excel-sheet-import-template) seems to use the label-name for mapping and not the field-name (sigh!).

So, i solved the problem by using a different label-name during the import-process and renaming it later to the proper label-name back.
