Cannot reconfigure process timeout dialog after initial configuration

Running CRM 2011 UR14, I cannot reconfigure my process timeout wait condition once the process has been saved.  If you go back to the dialog, you get the following:

Note that the time related combo boxes are missing and the Process combo box does not have all the valid entries available either, although the data is actually in the condition.  Unfortunately, that means the condition cannot be modified.  Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

    Hello,

We can surely configure or update the Timeout condition after its saved. Looking at the above screenshot you have pasted, on the 'Wait condition' window, hover your mouse besides the drop down where you have selected 'Process'. You will see another drop down where you can select the Execution time and update the Timeout period.

When I said the combo boxes are missing, I should have been clearer.  They are missing data.  For example, the first one only allows you to select Process.  None of the entity or related items are present.  With Process selected in the first, the second combo box is missing the Timeout selection for Process.  Only Execution Time, Activity Count, and Activity Count Including Process are present.  The third has nothing in it as shown below.  And the duration field (which does appear at times such as below but not in the one in my earlier post) cannot be changed.  All these items can be configured initially, but not after the dialog is saved.  If I create a new step, I can access the items as expected, but I cannot return to the dialog to make the changes to that step.

Further, if I temporarily set the second selection to Activity Count, in order to see if I can return to a point where I can make the changes I need, the dialog gives the exception "Type of TimeoutExpression must be DateTime, TimeSpan or MethodCallExpression" when saving it.  There simply seems to be many things wrong with editing these settings.

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Unlike a standard wait condition, a timeouts wait condition cannot later be modified, unless it is to simply change the date it is waiting until (as in, it must remain a ‘timeout’). This is by design.

I can't even edit the timeout value.  I can delete the value I specified for timeout, but not set it to something else.  Once it's deleted, I don't know what you can do about it since I can't get it set.

To me, the "design" of this dialog leaves little to be desired.  It is very problematic.  Frequently, it corrupts previous settings.  It's virtually impossible to edit an existing workflow of any complexity unless you go to editing XML.  Improvement in this area would be much desired in future releases.

I'm having the same problem too. The dialog does not show the Timeout option anymore. I haven't made any change to my UR-13 environment. I last used this functionality about a month back. Now, suddenly its gone.

    Ways to reproduce:

    Create a new workflow.

Select Process in first drop down.

The second drop down does not contain a value for Timeout.

    It only has:

    1. Execution Time

    2. Activity Count

    3. Activity Count including Process

I also have the same problem, exactly as described.

Setting up the timeout initially works perfectly fine, but if you come back to it and try to change the timeout duration, there is no way to do it. The screen looks very broken and is almost certainly a bug. When you first open it up, the second and third drop down menus are blank. The first menu only has "Process", the second menu no longer has "Duration" (just the top 3 choices), the third menu has nothing at all until you pick something from the second menu, and clicking on the text box with the duration value gives no way to change it. The only thing I can do with the duration is click on the yellow box and delete it, which turns the box into an empty dropdown menu with no items.

If I delete the timeout step and create a new one, I can again choose the duration with no issues. Unfortunately, this can be problematic if the timeout has other steps as children, since those now have to be re-created.

I realized I was checking for Timeout on the If condition. The timeout is available on the Wait condition.
