Business Central security filters in permission sets and Power Bi reports

Hello,

I have created a permission set allowing users to only see Purchase Orders with Responsability Centre = RES1. I have then created a Purchase Orders Power BI report, when the users goes to this report he is able to see ALL purchase orders. I was expecting to have the permission set security filter applied to the PowerBI report and for the user to see RES1 POs only, but this doesnt seem to be the case. Does anyone know why?

Thanks

Alejandra

    Hello,

from my experience the security filters in the BC do not automatically apply to Power BI reports, even if the data is pulled from BC. In Power BI, access to data is governed by the security model and roles you define within Power BI itself, rather than the security filters or permission sets in BC. You will need to make changes within your Power BI report to achieve that.

    Greetings

I agree as well, from what I know you have to use row-level security in Power BI. More info here

Or you can add filters directly in the Endpoint, but this requires setting up different connections for different users, which is very troublesome. Not recommended.

    Thanks.
