Using the Opportunity for Revenue Forecasting

I can produce very good order intake forcasts from the Opportunity record.  However we do not sell discrete items, we sell services.  A a typical sale will be delivered over many months, possibly years, and will be invoiced to the Customer in stages.  I need to forecast the revenue from these stage payments.  Any suggestions how I can do this?

    You could possible use Goals and Goal Metric to do this.
