We have a fashion uniform apparel store and we would like to group new inventory by season and be able to track these items by profit margin and see how well the fall or summer or winter line sold  does anybody know if this is possible with Rms or is this another ad-on that needs to be bought

How about a Department or better yet, a Category?

There are Fashion add-ons, maybe someone here will suggest one.

    Hi there.

Contact RTL (http://www.rtl-world.com/ ), they have shoe and fashion add-ons, that include seasons as a retail dimension. Also, a great reporting sistem, that could cover your needs...

    Kind regards, A.

This is not possible in vanilla RMS but with the Fashion Add-on (RTL Matrix & RTL Reports) from Retail Technology Limited, you will be able to do exactly that.  Classify items by season and then compare seasons - how did a dept/category/style/item etc compare this season as opposed to last.  Take a look at the following:  addins.rtl-world.com/.../reports_training.html as well as addins.rtl-world.com/.../matrix_training.html

If you would like to give me a call to discuss - contact details are available on our company website at www.rtl-world.com

    Kind regards

    Kim

You can have departments for each season.

    For example

    Dept. Mens SS2013 / Women SS2013 etc.

Than you can report by department. The only downfall is you will have to create Depts. multiple times a year.

But it helps in reporting on Sales by Season and keeping inventory clean.

I get arround this by puttin a note in the item note field , for example for summer 2014 i put a not " s 14 " and i have designed reports to show the item note in it .

i search with the collection filter and that does the job .
