Hi,

I need to create one campaign for sending mails to around 25 contacts which are created as leads in CRM.

So I have created a quick campaign with all these contacts. It is showing as success but the receiver has not received the mail yet.

I am using online version of CRM 2013.

Can anyone help me to fix this issue.

    Hi Athira,

My name is Andres Guzman, I'm glad to help you.

What configuration for CRM 2013 do you have configured?

Email Router, Server-side Sync or CRM for Outlook.

Please remember that you need to configure additional options to send the emails correctly.

Maybe the Implementation Guide can help you: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    Hi Andres Guzman,

    Thank you for your help.

These additional options are not configured.

I will do this configuration and update.

    Thanks !

Note:  If there seems there may be an issue I always start by checking the status of my emails in CRM by going to Activities > Emails > All Emails.  At least then you know for sure.

    Hi Athira,

Can you check your Activities View for Emails and see if the Status is Sent.

For Quick Campaign you cannot make out if the emails are sent successfully.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have tried using CRM for  Outlook . But the mails showing status as "Pending send".

I didnt get the meaning of that.

And what is the difference between Campaign and Quick Campaign ?

    Thanks !

    Please excuse the non-technical answer.

Pending Send means there is something wrong with CRM for Outlook (or however you've set up to send the email).  The email is ready to go (CRM has done everything it needs to) but it is blocked for some reason.

First thing I always check - is the version of CRM at the server and client level identical?

Someone else on the forum is sure to have the skills to walk you through the steps after that (and I'll watch with interest).  It's when I bring in a hard-core techo who knows what to do.

To answer your other question re the difference between the 2 types of campaigns:

Campaign allows you to attach multiple activities to a single campaign (e.g. an email followed by a phone call and a subsequent email or mailout all related to the same event etc).

A quick campaign is limited to just a single activity - like what you needed to do in this instance (i.e. send a single email).

    Hi Athira,

If you use the CRM for Outlook, the workflow sending email you use who is the sender?

The sender needs to be a valid user and needs to run the CRM for Outlook first in order to send it out.

So if this is like an automation process, I suggest you better you configure either Email Router or Server sync for a dedicated Queue.

The different between Campaign and Quick Campaign you can find here:

But just for a quick read:

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../campaigns-and-quick-campaigns

Very good explanation with the table of comparison as well.

    And this is the process:

    rc.crm.dynamics.com/.../campquickcampdiagram.aspx

Campaign : Will have a more detail info and target, such as planning activities, budgeting, multiple activities and multiple target as well.

While Quick Campaign: Will have more minimum info to be filled, well you just define the single activity and choose your target.

So if your case no need the budgeting, complicated things, additional info, just blasting a single email activity to a target list then Quick Campaign as per its name, should be your best choice.

If you want more detail info, additional custom fields, budgeting, planning, multiple activities in one campaign with many marketing list target, then Campaign is a must to be chosen. Because you cannot mix multiple target type for quick campaign, such as prospect, existing customer (contact/account).

Both are for same purpose, for Marketing and blasting and you can convert them as the Campaign Response as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Aileen,

When doing a quick campaign (email), the section where to choose to use a template or to fill in your own email info on the spot.

Can you tell me what the "Duration" drop down setting is at the bottom?  Does this control how many of the emails to the marketing list go out per "duration" you choose?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Can you help me to set up server side synchronization for CRM online 2015 update ?

    I have followed this article

    technet.microsoft.com/.../b4a7e72b-df4f-42d8-a91d-c69cc52ff138

The email profile is exchange. But the fields specified in the above article is not there in CRM.

    Thanks!
