Item charge assignment to GL account rather than to Individual Items

Hello

Can freight on supplies (incoming Item charges) on a Purchase Order simply be assigned directly to a GL account rather than assigning as an additional cost of the Item?

If yes, how can this be done?

Its possible to book the shipping cost directly to a G/L Account, your line item on the Purchase Order would simply be of the Type G/L Account and you would select which G/L Account you want to expense. This is done instead of the line item on the Purchase Order being an item charge. With a G/L Account you would also not assign it to anything.

Hi, no, it can't be done as far as I know. First of all, it is mentioned in the following document that the type can only be Item. (The name of the function is also "Item Charge")

A simple test:

Unable to see the line for GL Account, even if you use the Get Receipt Lines or Get Sales Shipment Lines function, you can only see lines that type is Item.
