    Hello Fong Fong,

I think it's related to this new Feature:

    Write longer item references

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave2/smb/dynamics365-business-central/write-longer-item-references

    I hope it helps,

in BC17 under Feature Management You have possibility to enable Feature Update: Write longer item references.

What it does is, that it copies entries from table Item Cross Reference (5717) to table Item Reference (5777).

So system now uses new table 5777 to find item's with cross references (look in table Sales line and You find Item Reference fields in addition to Cross-Reference fields we have had for years).

Biggest difference between the tables is that field(6; "Reference No."; Code[50]) is 30 characters longer than before.

    Interesting fact:

From Item LIST searching for action "cross" an action Item references opens new table 5777 and from Item CARD searching for action "cross" an action Cross references opens old table 5717.

    I presume it's a bug and not a feature...but You never know :-)

    Hi Erol,

Thanks for information. Just want to add that this is not a bug when you open from Item card. On Item card there are options to open item references or cross references. So if you open item references either from item list or either from item card both point to same table. But if you select cross reference from item card then obviously it points to old table.

ok -thanks for pointing this out.

I don't like to waste time on finding buttons so I search for them ... and I searched in list and card using word "cross" ... and that's why I ended up on "Old" Cross References on card.
