Document attachment in Portal

Hi

I am currently evaluating the possibilities to use the new Portal add-on to Dynamics CRM to create a simple event management solution. In my scenario i need to attach documents to an event for the customer to download through the portal.

Does anyone know if it is possible to attach a document to the record in CRM to let the customer download that attachment from the portal?

The customer should not be able to attach documents them selves within the portal. Just download whatever was attached to the record.

Thanks

    Hello Jacob,

If you want to show Files from Annotations entity then you can use Notes, it will render like below on Portal Entity form (Configure Metadata),

If you want to Show files from Azure Blob then you can use Annotations.html Web resource in CRM Form

    Thanks and Regards

    Hello James,

I want to Show files from Azure Blob in Dynamics 365 Portal. I have used Annotations.html Web resource in CRM Form but when I render the Entity Form which used this CRM form in portal, I'm getting the message page not found in the web resource place holder of the form.

Please let me know how to configure in Entity Form/WebForm to show files from Azure Blob.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Nandhini

    Hi

I found the solution, we need to create a note in CRM with the description containing *WEB*, that note can be viewed in the portal.

    As shown in below screenshot.

    Attach_2D00_Documents_2D00_from_2D00_Microsoft_2D00_Dynamics_2D00_365_2D00_Portal8.png

If you are still not able to see notes in portal, check below mentioned points:

    1. Entity Permission

    2. Entity Form Metadata

    3. Web Roles assigned to user.

    Thanks,

    Hardik Chauhan

Is there any way to display Note attachments on the Portal without having to include *WEB* in the body?

Just add Notes (timeline) in your form in CRM and the same thing will render in Portal and user will be able to download the file.

Notes will show the related records present in CRM .

    Thanks

It's composition of right configuration(including entity permission and form properties). Briefly you can see all the process at the community.adxstudio.com/.../notes-configuration-for-entity-forms

If you do everything right  - you shouldn't face any problems.
