PO Line Status

Posted on by 565

Hello GP Folk,

I have a PO with open line items that we cannot receive against (there was a power outage in the midst of receiving the items).

A query of POP10100 listed the PO status as "2".  A query of POP10110 listed the PO line item status as "2".  (Items received on prior days had a status of "4".)

Where can I find out what the status indicators mean?  I searched knowledgebase articles but couldn't come up with anything.

If you can help, thanks in advance!

Palma

    That is a very good reference, Frank, thanks.  I also wandered through the field info in the resource descriptions - I'd never gotten into that much detail before.

    Now that I've determined that the PO and PO Line status are as they should be, I think the problem may be a locked session.  I believe I'll need to follow the normal process to clear it: have all users logout, backup all databases, and query DEX_LOCK and DEX_SESSION in tempdb.  Delete if necessary.  Then do the same for ACTIVITY, SY0800 AND SY00801 in the Dynamics database.

    Palma, have a look at this excellent reference from Victoria Yudin - http://victoriayudin.com/gp-reports/pop-tables/.

    Hi Palma,

    There are 2 ways that you can find this information;

    • Tools - Resource Description - Tables - click on button with the 3 dots - choose the series you are trying to look up (in this case Purchasing)  - personally I then change the view to Physical Name - find the table you want and click on it.  In the next window find the field you are interested in (in this case PO Status) and click on the Field Info button and if it is in the system it will open and give you the definitions.
    • However, something I would suggest is that you look into purchasing Information Flow and Posting written by Accolade Publications (I do not work for them!! nor do I get any commission, etc.!), this book talks about what happens during the various steps of the transaction process including which tables are updated and when.  Plus at the back of the book it has a section that gives you a quick reference of a lot of these fields.  I bought ours in 2005, and I refer back to it on a regular basis.

    Hope this helps!
