Work creation history log automatically turns off

Hi All

Could you explain to me the following parameter, please

I want to work creation history log to be always enabled, but this "log automatically turns off" would disable it in a week. I cannot manipulate that, every time I turn on the "Enable work creation history log", the system would put a "deactivation" date on 1 week from now.

    That is how the functionality works. I believe it is done to avoid excessive logging.

    I usually advice my clients to focus on WHY they need to look into the work history,

    What type of issues are arising that need to be resolved by checking the work history and then focus on solving the root cause of the issues.

    That is indeed a valid answer, thank you.

    However, we have the batch job to delete the logging table, so the extensive logging issue is addressed already. And of course, there are multiple scenarios where you would like to keep the log always created, and just delete the old records

    Hello all.

    This change was added in 10.0.23 it's not a feature that you could disable in the 'Feature Management'

    As an executive summary:

    We limited the time the work creation history log is turned on because of performance reasons. (Understandable that you have a batch, the majority of the implementations didn't do this). The log suppose to be used only to validate the correctness of work configuration etc. and not to be always enabled.

    What if you really need it: If you would like to change default number of days there is an extension point in WHSParameters table: WHSParameters.workCreateHistoryLogDurationInDays() The date is stored in the same table in WorkCreateHistoryLogUntilDate column.
