subsidiary ledger

Hi Folks,

In my new position for an international non-profit i have just started using MGP 2010. Previously i have used Fund-EZ and quickbooks. I am used to seeing subsidiary ledgers for AP, AR, CR etc.

In MGP the only way i've been able to see a subsidiary ledger is by running an excel export for the relevant accounts. Is there a native screen in MGP that lists transaction activity for a month?

Thank you in advance,

Salman

Salman, the equivalent in GP for AP and AR are their respective Trial Balance reports, available in traditional report format (i.e., Purchasing>>Reports>>Trial Balance) or SSRS reports, if installed in your environment.

The Cash subledger is the Checkbook Register.

    I second Frank!

To expand a little bit some people prefer smartlists if your just need to pull quick data, for balancing to GL or fine granular reporting the HATB's are definitely best though.

    1) Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP>Smartlist.

    2) Expand the needed Series (Purchasing for example).

    3) Expand a transaction Smartlist (Payables Transactions for example).

    4) Select the * Smartlist or if you have a Smartlist favorite configured already for your needs select it.

    5) Click Columns and add\remove columns as desired.

    6) Click Search and add in any search criteria you would like.

    7) You can then save the Smartlist setup as a favorite by clicking favorites and choosing the options for saving the favorite.

    Salman,

Also, there is a very useful tool to Reconcile The GL to the various sub-ledgers (AP, AR and CR) or (PM, RM and BR - in the GP world).  You can access the window via Financial > Routines > Reconcile to GL, which you will likely find very useful:
