Non-Inventory Items on Pick Lists

Good Afternoon,

Is anyone aware please of how you can get a non-inventory item on a picking list. We have items that leave that require one or two sundry items to leave with them. These are namely screws or cable ties etc, with an approximate value of say £0.009 each so we are not concerned with having them as inventory items and needing to count them etc but would like a couple to leave with the main item.

If this is not possible, is there a way of getting a comment or instruction to show on the pick list to tell the operative to grab some of the screws / cable ties when picking the rest of the order. I have tried using the comment function on the item card but i cannot get the comment to show on the pick instruction the warehouse operatives use when packing the goods.

Thank you in advance,

I have the same question (0)

So I would suggest creating an Assembly Item that has both the inventory, and non inventory parts, and create an assembly BOM so that you can include the non inventory items on the pick list

Thank you! We had previously had errors putting non-inventory items in a BOM, but this seemed to work all OK.

The other situation we have is an item that is assemble to stock, and purchased in. It basically is brought in and leaves as the same item without any intervention. As much as by adding a a cable tie or screw we are, i suppose, creating an assembly item, we would just prefer a note to appear on the pick that reminded the operative to pack a cable tie / screws. Is there a way of using maybe extended text or similar to get a note to appear on the pick. It seems to be the only document you can't pick a comment to appear on??

    Thank you.
