User login defaulting to company not assigned, can't move forward

Hi,

Ran into an odd problem: We have been training users in a lab with their own logins without issue for weeks. This morning, some of the users tried access BC from their personal workstations to continue self training aspect of their area of work. When they login to the sandbox, it defaults to a proof of concept instance on the sandbox which they don't have access to. Select the back button throws the same error.

I provided a work-around by constructing a URL with the addtion of ?company=<INSTANCE%20NAME> tacked on to address this but this isn't a work-around for something that shouldn't be happening.

Does anyone have a solution other than my ugly hack?
