Behavior of the date and time field

Posted on by 2,397

Hi, I have start & end date and time fields, behavior and format are date only. I can edit and save the date, but from database, I can see that it is updating start & end date utc field instead of start & end date field. That would affect the data migration, any suggestions?

In the database, those dates should be stored as <date> 00:00 (00 for the time)

Unless you have converted some datetime fields from another format

Not sure it would affect the data migration - why? For the date only field CRM is only looking at the date portion.

    Hello,

That's default behaviour, all the CRM dates are stored in UTC format in SQL server, but they are formatted accordingly in CRM UI.

    Hi ,

Yesyou are correct.Dynamics CRM stored datetime converting UTC so whenever you migrate data you should convert your each date time value with UTC format .

You can refer below article to understand more on this. Hope this helps.
