Advice to implement and setup BC

Hello,

I'm a Master Data Manager in a 150 employees company.

We will implement Business Central Premium by 2021 Q1.

I migrated around 10K items, vendors, and customers for testing purposes with our different departments.

What is the best strategy to test the system with dummy data and transactions for months, keep the configuration, and start in a new system by next year (with the same parameters) for the Go-Live?

Do I need to play with Sandbox? Copy the production env.? create a new instance? I'm not familiar with D365 admin centers so far.

Thank you for your help.

Adrien

As a time saver if you have already migrated data to the production database I would use the “copy company” feature so you have that base data saved in a clean state. Use another company to then play around with transactions. At the point of getting ready for go live you can add the data that is missing from the clean company (no transactions) and go live.

The effort to import the volumes you have mentioned is not worth duplicating if you can avoid it.
