I'm trying to assign security roles to an appointment form but when testing with a different security role, this user can see the form, is there a way to prevent a user or role from creating certain types of activities?

Thanks!

    Hi,

It's possible by writing plugin on create of the activity entity like email, appointment etc.

In the plugin, throw custom exception that will restrict the user from creating the appointment record.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you,

Open that particular activity forms, hide all the fields/section/tab & keep a simple HTML webresource in a section saying - “This activity is not in use or you are not allowed to create.”

If you want to allow few roles to create, then hide this webresource tab/section & show the other section with fields based on login user roles.

    Hi,

the most easiest way would be ,you can create a real time workflow, trigger on create and throw the error.

Agree with Alex, the easiest way is to use real time workflow to error. The other options is to have a JavaScript running on load which check for user role and then based on that  displays the error.

    Hope this helps.
