Auto-Matching Recipients when Set-Regarding

Is there any way to suppress the automatic matching (and linking) of recipients whose email addresses appear in CRM when an email is Set Regarding (to another account etc) in Outlook?  CRM Online v9.x

    The way we did that in the past was via a plugin which checked and then if appropriate deleted the set-regarding as the email was created.
