I exported 3 separate CRM 2015 unmanaged solutions to 3 zip files in May 2015. I have now created a new CRM environment and am trying to import the solutions but keep getting the error below for the solution that has all the entities.

"The Solution file is invalid. The compressed file must contain the following files at its root: solution.xml, customizations.xml, and [Content_Types].xml. Customizaiton files exported from previous versions of microsoft Dynamics CRM are not supported."

Any idea what i should do?

I have tried unzipping and zipping all the xml files and then tried again but nothing.

Hi ShamikaMaldonado,

Will you please tell the version of your CRM from where you export your solution and the version of your CRM where you want to import? Is both same or not?

It sounds like you're zipping the folder containing solution contents, so when you're importing, CRM is seeing the zipped folder, your export solution folder, and then the contents of the export. What you want to do is zip only the contents of the export.
