Extender Issue

Hi All,

We have couple of Extender Customization on Employee Maintenance screen. The additional menus for extender windows disappears sporadically. Either the menus are not appearing when we launch the Emp Maintenance Card itself or while navigating through the Employee records. We are using PA, hence I even tried changing the security to default back to the Default Emp Maintenance screen instead of PA Emp Maintenance and see if that is something to do with PA. But problem still persists.  

GP Version: 2010 with YE Update 2014

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    The suggestion from eOne could just be one reason for this issue. I consistently recreated this scenario for almost 4 different types of Extender windows across different modules and parent forms. It would get resolved only after I mock some modifications on Extender window definition and save.

    However, if it seems working, there's no harm in continuing with it.

    I opened a support case with eOne and they suggested  that wait until the Process Monitor window gets cleared off whenever you login or switch companies.  So, I asked users to follow the same and it seems it worked for the users.

    Jyothi, FYI, I faced this issue (disappearing menu items) on GP 2015. Not the previous versions. I upgraded GP from GP2013 R2 to GP2015 and still faced this issue.

    So you may have to repeat my suggestion (if it works on GP 2010) on GP 2015.

    Just thought of letting you know this.

    Thank you very much Victoria, Vaidhy and Soma. Appreciate you time and help.  We are on GP 2010, hence, I've followed Vaidhy's suggestion for now and asked users to watch and report if they encounter the issue again. I'll update this post based on their response.  Also, we are planning to move to 2015 soon and that should resolve the issue.

    I am also experienced the same issue and tried the same suggested by Mr. Vaidhy, then it was worked fine. I don't know why this appears after opening the Extender window and saved the same again. But, it was worked for me.

    So, please try the same and let us know.

    Duplicate menu items happen when user changes the company from one to another without completely closing GP, as detailed by Victoria. She was spot on. This issue has been fixed on the latest version.

    I had also seen the other issue; disappearing menu items. This happened quite recently for me. I had to apply the most recent Extender version, as it was having an issue in Security Tasks setup window. Once I applied the update, some of my Extender window menu items disappeared.

    Solution to that is to simply open the Extender Window/Form Maintenance, open that Extender window definition record and simply save it once. I have not seen any instruction on eOne forum yet on this. But that is how I could fix my issue.

    I have seen the doubled up menus appear quite often when switching from one company to another in GP where both companies have the same Extender windows. The missing menu items is not quite as frequent in my experience. Usually logging out of GP and logging back in fixes both issues.

    For what it's worth, newer versions of Extender (since eOne has taken over) seem to be better with both of these. You may want to confirm you're on the latest build available, although for GP 2010, I am not sure if eOne will have a newer build since I think those were all done through Microsoft.

    Looks like the duplicate menu item issue has been fixed, but only for a newer version of GP.
