How to Format Date in Workflow/Mailmerge

Hi All,

When you take any date from the createdOn field of any records in CRM into either a workflow or mailmerge it is diplayed with the format DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM. I would like to format this to show only the shortdate DD/MM/YYYY. I am also trying to automatically enter today's date into both mailmerge and workflow. Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Ao,

     you can manage this by creating a string formatted field containing the format you want to display. a custom plugin should help you to sync the date field to the text field.

    Thanks for your answer Boudewijn. I am just currently learning to create plug-ins so i'll see how it goes. I tried changing the attribute format to date only instead of date & time and you would think this would work but no.
