Hello good people,
I am thinking about upgrading my Dynamics RMS 1.x to 2.0 Version. I have gathered all the information regarding the upgrade such the (How to backup stuff etc.), but i could not find any information regarding the license key. Do i have to buy a new license key or, the 2.0 will replace the 1.0 and work on my existing license. If anyone have any knowledge about this, Please response.

RMS version 1 used a dongle (small plastic USB or Parallel port device). RMS version 2 uses license keys and will not work with the dongle.
You have to contact a partner or microsoft support to upgrade. You have to be on paid microsoft support plan. If you havent been paying for a support plan for years, microsoft will want back payment for the years you missed.
If you cant be or dont want to be on a support plan then they will not give you the new keys required for version 2.0 and also no access to the downloads.
If you can provide a copy of your original invoice or documentation that proves you purchased RMS V.1.0 prior to the date Microsoft required customers to purchase a support plan with their RMS software - you would then be required/allowed to purchase a support plan with no penalties and request new keys for RMS 2.0. Once you are current on an Enhancement/Support Plan - don't let it lapse or penalties will be applied in the future and you will no longer be eligible for updates or new releases.
