customer configuration pkg expects no. series to be set to manual

Hi, in BC 19.1 when I attempt to apply data in a configuration package for the customer table, I get the error that the customer no. must be set to 'manual' in the no. series (see full error text below). I don't recall this happening before in earlier releases. I am not inserting new customer records with this config pack, I am updating another field.

If the customer record already exists shouldn't the function just update the record instead of erroring out because the customer no. field is not set up for manual entry? Is this a defect? Should I just temporarily turn on 'manual' in the number series to proceed with my import?

You may not enter numbers manually. If you want to enter numbers manually, please activate Manual Nos. in No. Series CUST.

I have the same question (0)

Is this possible that, in the records that you are are importing through Config Pack, there is one or more record/s that doesn't exist in the Customer Master and system is manually trying to Insert a New Record?

    Hi

I also tried and got the same error message. I think this is a bug. Can you ask your partner to report it to Microsoft?

    Thanks

I have been having this same issue with Contacts.  I export a group of contacts using Configuration Package, update a field, and then attempt to import the modified records back into BC and then receive the same error.  To work around the error - I temporarily change the Manual Nos field to On in the No. Series and change it back to No after I import the records.
