UNC path on Account form using Outlook client, CRM 2013 online

Has anyone figured out a way to store a file path in UNC format on an account record (or any entity for that matter), so that when a user clicks on it, it will properly open Windows Explorer in that folder?  We found some methods of accomplishing this via javascript on an on-premise CRM, but once the record is opened through the outlook client, nothing works correctly.

Any help is appreciated.  And no, we won't be moving to SharePoint to store the files.

As far as I am aware there is no way to do this OOB. One option I have used before is have a html web resource that is past the id of the account. The web resource then display the link that can be stored in a text attribute. Another alternative is a custom ribbon button...

What is your end goal? Do you have a separate path for each Account, Contact, etc...? Or is this one location for all files?
